Synopsis

Good advice for anyone

Evaluator Comments

The ABC's of Choosing a Good Wife is a very helpful book with plenty of information, proof, and advice to help just about anyone, even any vocation.  I was more else less forced to read this book by my mother who insisted I understood what I was doing before I left for college.  Well, honoring my mother's wishes I picked it up and had a rather good time.  The first paragraph caught my attention with amazing humor and an even more powerful message.  I took breaks between reading times, but it was still the type of book that keeps you reading.

This book was almost half created as a reference book, so it's organization makes it easier to read, and even easier to find what you are looking for when the problems arise.  It gives great examples of everything it states, and proves it with scripture, tradition, and statistics.  Besides giving advice it also gives great meanings to different words that will come up.  You will actually know the difference between courting and dating.  It will state several reasons why you should avoid any physical acts of life, even the "innocent kiss."  The book will greatly increase your knowledge on what Christian relationships are.  And finally it will help you seek out the one that will truly let you live "Happy Ever After."   It doesn't seem to take into account, like it's girly version, grace that will help.  This just proves it gives a more logical approach rather than the graces God will use to help you work out whatever happens.

The people who should get this book is kind of obvious.  Any man thinking his vocation is to get married should definitely read this book.  I want to expand on this though.  I think just about anyone over age 18 should have this book.  If you are planning on getting married, and interested in finding the one, obviously you should have it.  If you're a priest, you should get it.  You'll be able to use it as a reference when people come to you with problems easily answered in this book.  If you're not really sure on your vocation, you should still get this book, as it will let you know what comes with the whole marriage package.  If you are already married, this book will help you through difficult times.  I would even say that young ladies and women should have this book, as it will help them know which men they should chase.  Of course, they have their own version called "The ABC's of Choosing a Good Husband."  I am a bit surprised that it isn't called "The ABC's of Choosing a Good Hubby."   You can purchase this book here
