Perfect for getting children excited about Mass.

Evaluator Comments

I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old, and an 18 month old, all of them benefited from MagnifiKid. I honestly thought my 5 year old would be the only one to really get anything out of it, but I was completely wrong. We used MagnifiKid as a way to prepare for the Sunday readings and practice proper Mass behavior. The difference this made for all of them has been amazing. The first week I wasn't sure if I had actually brought my children or somehow picked up look alikes along the way.

When MagnifiKid arrived I wasted no time sitting down with my oldest to share it with her, read through it, and answer her questions. Shortly after I started reading it to her I saw my 3 year old put down his trucks and silently sit on the floor next to his big sister. More amazing still was when my 18 month old became quiet, picked up her blanket and doll, and sat right in my lap for the rest of the time I was reading.

It's a very rare moment when all of the children are quiet at the same time. Normally that seems to only happen in the middle of the night when they are all sleeping. MagnifiKid was a big success at home, but I wasn't sure if that would translate over when we were at church.

I read the MagnifiKid to my children every day of the week in preparation for the upcoming Sunday. They started to learn exactly what to say and when, they got better at sitting quietly, and they began to focus on what was being read. The first time we went to mass I brought that week's MagnifiKid with us. Since I normally don't bring anything to Mass this was a big change, but it was worth it. They looked at the MagnifiKid in the car on the way there, and the older two both noticed that the readings in church were the same ones they had heard every day that week.

After the first couple of weeks I stopped bringing MagnifiKid into mass with us, but they still listened to it everyday and looked at it in the car on the way there. Thanks to MagnifiKid they are excited to go to mass and are following along much better because they know exactly what to expect and when. Even my 18 month old has begun to sit in either my husband's lap or mine without any fussing for the entire mass.

MagnifiKid will be coming to our house for a long time to come. As much as my young children have each benefited from it already, I can't wait to see how much more they get out of it as they grow older and can read it to themselves and each other.
